Hollywood Poker Play

Thought i’d post an update on my HollywoodPoker play having got off to a flying start picking up $300 in an affiliate freeroll the other week. I think HollywoodPoker is the best online poker room for several reasons the most important being i know it’s an honest online poker room.

Took a snapshot of the results for the first 40 tournaments I played.

Currently played 170 games for 43 wins and a balance of $600-66. I did have a few days there where i had nothing but bad beats and obviously you throw away some money when on tilt and i dropped to $400 before turning it around on the $20 SNGs. Remember i started with $0-00 in my Poker account so i can’t complain.

Poker Stratergy – Bluffing at Online Poker

One of the traps that many new poker players fall into when they begin playing online poker is that they try to bluff. The main reason that this poker stratergy doesn’t work is that the majority of online poker players are bad poker players.

There is a saying in poker, you can only bluff good players. When you play online your bluff will be called more often than not regardless of what hand they hold.

Bad beats are part and parcel of online poker and the cause of major frustration to many players. It’s obviously easier said than done to remain calm but once you lose it then you have very little chance of winning.

• When To Bluff When Playing Poker Online

There are a few rules that you can incorporate into your Poker Play that will enhance your chances of success when bluffing online.

You must watch the play of the others at your table. Note who are the aggressive players, will they call a large raise hoping to hit, will they come over the top if your too greedy and stealing blinds regularly.

The you have to be able to throw your cards away when the bluff doesnt work or will you shove all your chips into the middle when you bluff? Did they just trap you?

Playing a $1 rebuy poker tournament online is not the same as paying $10,000 to sit at the table.

The majority will play tighter. You can steal more often because people aren’t inclined to play a hand unless it’s a good one, which lets you know where you stand before the flop.

That’s why bluffing onilne is a play that costs you more than it is going to make you. Most poker players will call you regardless of if they think they have you beat or not (calling stations). They look at the costs involved and say, “why not lets gamble”.

New players learn to play poker online in one of the many free roll poker tournamnets. Because it is a free roll event they get into the bad habit of playing too many hands, rather than “play properly” and sit around waiting to get a half decent hand to play with. Unfortunately they will cause you some damage when they hit a flop with their 38os.
