Australian Night Racing is slowly making its mark on the industry with three tracks that race TAB meetings. Canterbury is the home of night racing in Sydney. Moonee Valley is the home of night racing in Melbourne while Toowoomba is the home of night racing in Queensland.
Night Racing is proving popular with the Moonee Valley Racing Club celebrating one of its most successful seasons on record. Moonee Valley is home to Australia’s best race – the Group One $3 million WS Cox Plate
The Moonee Valley Racing club has announced the current season has heralded a 16 % increase in crowd sizes, a 17% increase in the number of starters, 12% increase in the number of races run and 7 % increase in betting turnover
The 2006/07 night racing season kicks off with the highly successful Grand Final Eve meeting on Friday September 29 with the club hosting a total of 16 night meetings.
Canterbury Park is the Home of Sydney Night Racing. It is Sydney’s only night racing venue and is located just 15 minutes from the CBD. The Sydney Turf Club hosts only eight night racing meetings starting in October and running through until February.
The Toowoomba Turf Club provides Twilight/night racing on Saturdays at Clifford Park. A tight, turning track provides plenty of competitive night racing with your horses odds significantly increased by getting close to the fence.
