NBA Betting Today

October 30, 2009

Plenty of money to be made with your NBA Betting today with the Orlando Magic the best bet of the day to cover the nba line against the New Jersey Nets. The Magic has to give up 9.5 points in this clash and they should do it in style against the Nets who are set for one hell of a long season.

Detroit are the second of our selections in NBA basketball betting today. The Pistons host Oklahoma City and should cover the 5.5 point spread, again with ease.

The third of our selections is the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James and the Cavs have started 0-2 this campaign, you can expect them to bounce back to the winners list against the Timberwolves who somehow managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against the Nets in their season opener.

Three good bets to give you plenty of $ for the weekend ahead.

NBA Finals Lines Betting

May 27, 2009

NBA Finals Lines Betting is proving to be a disaster for those betting on the red-hot favourites. I said the other day about Orlando 3-1 leaders over the Cavs and Denver 2-2 against the LA Lakers, “Keep betting on them it’s money in the bank, especialy at the NBA Lines.”

Nothing has changed, the two “outsiders” look like they are going to turn this playoff series on its head.

NBA Finals Betting

May 23, 2009

NBA Finals Betting on the Denver Nuggets and the Orlando Magic is proving to be profitable. Both teams were 9-00 and 15-00 repectively to win the NBA championships this season before their conference finals against the LA Lakers and the CLeveland Cavaliers tipped off.

Both teams should be heading back to their home court with 2-0 leads instead of their series’ being tied at 1-1.

Keep betting on them it’s money in the bank, especialy at the NBA Lines. Im pretty happy with myself for getting on early in the week outlaying $60-$40. I think i’ve beaten the bookies with this one.

Stern Legacy a Fixed NBA

June 16, 2008

NBA Commissioner David Stern is in a bit of an NBA fix these days with the majority of sport fans and the general public believing the words of former NBA referee Tim Donaghy. For those who have been living on planet Mars, Donaghy is the ref who admitted wrongdoing, and has already been found guilty of wire-fraud charges in relation to fixing and betting on NBA games that he officiated.

This whole episode has been a nightmare for Stern who has been resorted to the petty tactic of name calling. It really is rather amusing watching Stern, in every interview he conducts he is like a broken record saying the same thing over and over again. Unfortunately for the NBA Commissioner, his rhetoric is falling on deaf ears.

A recent survey concludes that 80% of fans believe the gambling ref.

This is not good for Stern who is looking more and more like a desperate man with each passing day since Donaghy claimed that “company men” were manipulating playoff games to provide the NBA maximum television and marketing benefits.

The calling favored stars and glamorous franchises with examples backed up by facts, the scoreboard never lies. Stern has called the allegations “baseless”.

Stern has basically defended the accusations with that age old defence where you discredit the person making the allegations, “He is a felon,” “He is the only one found guilty,” “He is singing like a canary to get a lighter sentence,”

RJ Bell of Pregame.com has provided some statistics in defense of Donaghy’s claims.

Since 2000, a surprisingly large 26% of non-first round NBA Series have extended to the maximum seven games.

That’s 44% more often than expected.

RJ Bell of Pregame.com said: “The odds of this increase happening randomly are less than 1%, approximately 180 to 1.”

How many 180/1 shots have you seen win the Kentucky Derby?

44% more Game 7s than expected clearly supports Tim Donaghy’s claim that the NBA Playoffs are officiated with the agenda of extending Series as long as possible.

The officiating in the current Boston Celtics v LA Lakers has left many bemused. None more so than the Lakers after their trip to the Gardens where the disparity in trips to the foul line could well be the 9th wonder of the world.

Game 2 in the NBA Championship series saw Boston go to the free throw line 38 times to the Lakers 10. Boston reserve Leon Powe, who 99.9% of NBA fans wouldnt know if they bumped into him in the street, went to the foul line more times in 14 minutes of playing time than the whole Lakers team.

Over to you Mr Stern.

NBA Basketball Playoffs Betting Lines Boston v Lakers Game 1

June 5, 2008

BetUS.com has already posted Sports Betting NBA Basketball Playoffs Betting Lines for the NBA Championship Series with the Boston Celtics -145 favorite to defend home court at the Gardens against the LA Lakers +125 in Game 1.

NBA playoffs betting on the point spread has the Celtics a 2.5 point favorite to cover the spread in this clash while the Over/Under betting -110 is at 192 points.

The LA Lakers have been a red-hot sports betting favorite with Vegas Bookmakers to take the series after they made light work of the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals.

The Celtics made it through to the championship decider with a little more ease than many expected against Detroit but are still an underdog to claim their first NBA title since the days of Larry Bird.

No doubt that Kobe Bryant is the key in this clash between the two most storied franchises in NBA history. The NBA leagues MVP has been averaging 31.9 points a game throughout the playoffs as the Lakers have gone 12-3 in claiming the Western Conference title.

Can Boston’s defense shut down Kobe and the Lakers in Game 1 of the playoffs on June 5 or will the Lakers take the initiative from the opening tip of the series?

LA Lakers take 3-1 series lead over Spurs

May 28, 2008

The LA Lakers have one foot in the NBA Championship series after taking a 3-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs with a 93-91 win on the road.  The win was not without its moment of mahem after the Lakers almost blew a 7 point lead at the death thanks to some ubelievably stupid play by Kobe Bryant.

Speaking on television afterwards, Kobe basically said that taking a tough layup with 15 seconds on the shot clock and 35 seconds on the game clock, with his team enjoying a 4 point lead, was the right play. Yeah right, dickhead.

He may be a great player, the best in basketball, but he made a schoolboy error that almost cost his team big time. The Spurs ran the ball down the floor for a quick 2 pointer and all of a sudden it was game on with the Lakers leading by 2 points and plenty of time on the clock.

Fisher missed everything and the ball was rebounded by the lakers who still had to take a quick shot with time about to expire, a miss by Kobe and the Spurs had a shot at forcing overtime at the very least if not to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, only for a dubious no call, seeing the Lakers home.

The Spurs have every right to cry about the no call, however, they did enjoy their share of home town decisions, going to the charity strike 26 times for 24 points, and who can defend Duncan’s walk to the basket.

Once again, the no show of Manu Ginobili was the deciding factor as it was in games 1 and 2 at the Staples Center. Ginobili rolled up for Game 3 and, not surprisingly, the Spurs cruised to a 19 point win.

No Ginobili no Spurs.

NBA Playoff Betting Celtics v Pistons Game 2

May 22, 2008

Can the Pistons pull their finger out in game two?  NBA Playoff Betting Celtics v Pistons Game 2 has the Celtics a 5 point favorite in NBA basketball betting lines.

And it comes as no surprise after the Boston Celtics cruised to victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Series against an almost laconic Detroit Pistons.

I’m hoping there is a bit more intensity in this game from the team in Blue. They didn’t look all that switched on in Game 1 which wasn’t good for my nba bet on the Pistons with a 4 point start.

The upside for the Pistons is Billups made his way back onto the court after spending two games on the sidelines. Ray Allen continues to shoot and miss, the downside is that Paul Pierce looks like he can score at will. I think i will have to double up on the Pistons in this one and take the +165 being offered by Betus.com

Something for coffee lovers out there.  I came across a free coffeemaker when surfing the net. It’s on a health blog about Acid reflux Relief.
