Zenit St Peterburg cruised to a comfortable and comprehensive 2-0 victory over Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA Cup Final and the City Of Manchester Stadium.
A rather poor example of football at the highest level with Rangers playing for penalties from the first minute. My prediction of this game being the best soccer bet of the century was spot on with $2-30 gratefully accepted. However, we didn’t have the luck to get paid some large payouts for the 4-0 and 5-0 bets i placed, due in no small part to the referee who decided not to give a first half penalty for a clear handball.
Rangers fans might want to argue that they should have got a penalty when the ball struck a Zenit player on the hip and they can do that elsewhere because that was play on.
A poor display by Rangers who, as i stated, played for penalties from the first minute fo the game. Some would argue and rightly so, that Rangers played for penalties from the moment they went into the competition.
Who can blame them? Technically deficient, devoid of ideas and inept in all facets of the game, this “spectacle” just highlighted the dire state of Scotland’s premier league. Consider this, Rangers are on target to win the treble…sad case of affairs it seems they will win these “titles” by default. I shudder to think how bad are the other teams, are in the SPL.
